סמינר באסטרונומיה ובאסטרופיזיקה: Ones again about radio pulsar evolution
Vasily S. Beskin, Lebedev Physical Institute
Currently, there is no direct information about the direction of evolution of the inclination angle between the magnetic axis to the axis of rotation in radio pulsars. As for theoretical models, they predict both the alignment, that is, the evolution of the angle of inclination to zero degrees, and, on the contrary, the evolution of the angle to 90 degrees.
It will be shown that the statistics of orthogonal interimpulse pulsars can give us a key test for solving this problem, since the number of orthogonal interimpulse pulsars significantly depends on the law of evolution of the inclination angle. A new important point of the study is the consideration of the real shape of the directivity pattern of such orthogonal pulsars. It turned out that good agreement with observational data can be obtained only in models in which the inclination angle tends to 90 degrees; alternative models predict too few orthogonal interpulse pulsars.
